What are Bifold Doors?
Bifold doors have panels that fold and slide to one side of the opening. Easy to open and close, bifold doors are also known as concertina doors or accordion doors. You can install them to the outside of your home or use them as an inside door between your Anglian conservatory and living space. Like French doors or sliding patio doors, external bifold doors are also a great option for terraces or balconies.
Why Choose Bifold Doors?
-
Enjoy the Warm Days
Open your bifold doors on warm days from Springtime onwards. Bifold doors are great for patios or decks. They make your home feel connected to the outside.
-
Light and Solar Gain
The light that bifold doors add to any home often makes them a desirable feature. But what is often overlooked is the warmth from the glazing throughout the winter months. Aluminium bifold doors reduce the flow of thermal energy through the frame to keep more heat in.
-
The Doors Stack Away
Bifold doors are compact and take up little room when folded back. During barbecues or garden parties, you can enjoy having a wider opening than a regular door. This creates more space for your guests.
-
Aluminium is Best
External bifold doors made from aluminium need very little maintenance. Unlike timber and uPVC, it won't warp due to the weather and is powder coated to last decades. Thanks to its strength, the frames can be thin to provide an unspoilt view of your outdoor space.
-
Multiple Layouts and Sizes
Bifold doors are custom made and suitable for lots of different home types. Our smallest size is two panels and largest is seven panels. Our largest bi fold doors are up to 6200mm wide and 2400mm high.

How Do Bifold Doors Work?
Bifold doors consist of several glass panels, known as ‘leaves’, that slide along a track. When you open bifold doors, the panels slide along this track, folding together like a concertina until they stack neatly against the wall. The stack of panels can sit outside your room, leaving the interior space clear.
Bifold doors can have an even or odd number of panels and often include a primary door that opens in or out. This provides quick access without having to open the full set of bifold doors.
