Café style shutters, also known as half shutters, have their origins in European cafés, hence the name. They only cover the lower half of the window, providing privacy below while daylight can flood in above. This provides privacy for rooms facing the street while sacrificing less natural light than full shutters.
This makes them ideal for any ground-level room that sees a lot of use during the day, such as a living room or kitchen.
